It's quite apparent that our drop of points is from three areas:

1) Red zone failures - We've fumbled way more than we have in the past, we've been missing short field goals from the left hash, and we've had trouble moving the ball inside the 10 yard line in particular. Billy Gonzalez calls the red zone plays, same as the last few years, so you can't blame Addazio for that.

2) Decreased yardage for Brandon James on punt returns - Teams are so scared to punt to him that they'd rather punt the ball high enough to warrant a fair catch, or kick it out of bounds. The last few seasons, he was regularly getting big yardage on punt returns, shortening the field for the gators, consequently raising the chances of scoring.

3) Fewer blocked kicks - this year we have 2 blocked kicks and last year we had 9. Big difference. Creates a shorter field which leads to points, yada yada yada...

The fact is, it's hard to judge the offense as a "disappointment" because we are comparing it to last year's team which had the fortunes of being better in all three of the areas I mentioned above. I think we're fine as of right now, so let's not worry about a thing. GO GATORS!!!
