Total yards: 243 Rushing: 147 Passing: 96 1st downs: 16 3rd down eff: 8-13 Penalties: 9-57 Turnovers: 0 The Vols had another meltdown, and once again it was in Neyland Stadium, but this time in front of 100,000+ crowd, which started thinning out at the beginning of the 2nd half. Florida scored early with the ol' jump pass, and Brandon James returned his 3rd punt for a TD against Tennessee in as many years (the one in 06 got called back). Emmanuel Moody made a BIG start with 9 carries for 55 yards and a couple of first downs. He's looking great. Hopefully we can now use Harvin as a receiver to burn secondaries and get big catches in the air. Tebow had just 96 yards but 2 TD throws and a couple of nice 1st down runs as well. Defense had a big game. There wasn't much pass rush but Tennessee's running game was suppressed for the most part and the secondary held off the passing game. Special teams killed it, as usual!!!! Meyer is now 4-0 against Fulmer and the Gators have tied the all time series vs Tennessee at 19 games a piece!!!!! GO GATORS! |

Defense reminded me a lot of the 05 team. Talented as hell but totally undisciplined. There were a shitload of penalties. We couldn't kickoff past the 15 yard line. There were a ton of missed tackles and a few of the turnovers were total giveaways by Hawaii. Eventually defense settled. Ahmad Black had two INTs, one returned for a TD. Major Wright looked good, as did Joe Hayden. There were a few sacks. #2 Jeff Demps, #3 Chris Rainey and #25 Brandon James lit Hawaii up. Each one had a TD. The offense looked very solid for the most part. |
