This is the next in a series of looks at each BCS conferences' fantasy prospects. Check out all the rest here.
Here are the sleepers I've identified in the Big XII. Some of these are useful for any league- for adjusting your draft rankings or for matchup plays- while others are for small leagues such as Big XII-only.

While most of the attention paid to Baylor's fantasy prospects will be on Robert Griffin (and with good reason), don't overlook the senior tailback, Jay Findley. If they are going to take another step forward, he needs to be involved more.
Oklahoma has a ''system'' which usually produces quarterbacks with great numbers... (Sooner fans, I didn't say the phrase ''system quarterback''... you filled in the blank) so I'm taking Landry Jones. It probably helps that he got basically a full year's experience last season as the ''backup'' quarterback.
I'm reaching a little to call Kendall Hunter a sleeper. After all, I took him #5 overall last season (behind 4 QBs: McCoy, Tebow, Bradford, and Potts) in a BCS League... but he's fairly far down the default CBS rankings. You can get him from 25-30, meaning he's a 3rd round steal in some leagues.
Put me on the record of thinking Garrett Gilbert is going to be a stud. I don't understand why some are so down on the replacements stepping in behind last year's big names... in many cases, the same things (surrounding talent, coaching, offensive system... shitty Big XII defenses...) that made those players fantasy studs are still there. Gilbert is definitely a guy to stash on your bench, as he will likely be one of the top QBs off the board in next season's draft.
I successfully spot-started Uzoma Nwachukwu a few times last season, but shouldn't have the luxury again. He's going to be ranked high enough- on the team with the top BCS QB, no less- that he ought to be drafted across the board. Look for him to have the kind of year that makes even the non-fantasy nerds take notice. One day soon, we make actually know how to pronounce his name.
For a change, I'll point out a ''sleeper'' where I agree with CBS' projections. Tommy Tuberville has been great for running backs- both in college and in getting them into the NFL- and Batch is sure to benefit. The Athlon preseason magazine listed Batch as 36th among all back- putting him somewhere around 20-25th in BCS Leagues. CBS has him in the top 5 among BCS backs. I certainly won't be afraid to take him in that 5-10 range, meaning he's a ''sleeper'' for those drafting without using CBS' default ranking system- and someone to snag if your league mates pass when they see a &TXTECH& designation next to a running back.
Speaking of your idiot league mates passing on a player based on his team, don't be fooled by Iowa State's Alexander Robinson. He's an absolute stud, and will put up great fantasy numbers all season.
Colorado isn't a great place for fantasy value. But I'm certainly keeping my eye on Michigan transfer Toney Clemons, who was the talk of the spring around Boulder- and the rest of the Big XII. Similarly, Kansas is going to play Daymond Patterson at his natural position- wide receiver- and his talent should shine through. Take a flier on him if you're in a league without too many other options- and watch him week to week for great matchups, as I think this will be a breakout season for him.
Oregon transfer Chris Harper is a name to watch at Kansas State. Hell, maybe I just love it when a player gets that Chip Kelly stink on him. When this all gets sorted out, maybe Kelly and I should get an apartment together.
Many expected Missouri to take a step back offensively after losing Macklin, Daniel, and Co. They didn't, and Gabbert is back for another season. Look out for another weapon to emerge at TE, as I think Andrew Jones finally breaks out in his junior year.
In Big XII-only leagues, you could do much worse than Nebraska's Niles Paul. He's a solid second receiver in those leagues. The Huskers won't be an offensive juggernaut- in case you haven't heard, they are pretty good on D- but there's something to be said for locking down a team's top option. In larger leagues, look at Paul for matchup plays, or to round out your bench for bye weeks.
Position Scarcity
''Scarcity'' really isn't a good word when mentioning the Big XII's fantasy options. They should have eight QBs that could be starting in a given week for your BCS League. They're also by far the most loaded of the BCS leagues at WR- it seems those two positions go together or something- and backs like Hunter, Murray, Batch, and Thomas should be drafted in the first round or two as well. The Big XII's fantasy BCS dominance should only pass when Will Muschamp gets that league's defenses to remember it's TWO-hand touch.
