Florida Dominates On All Sides of the Ball to Destroy Kentucky 63-5

Call it College Football's version of hitting for the cycle... Points from blocked kicks. Points from interception returns. Points in the air, points on the ground. Point is, the Gators excelled and dominated in every aspect of the game...

23 first downs, 446 total yards (near evenly split on the ground and in the air), 8 offensive touchdowns (3 which can be attributed to blocked kicks), and a 40 yard interception return for a touchdown. The Gators showed that nothing can more quickly deflate a team than taking away their chance of success at any part of the game. After the first blocked punt, you could see Kentucky knew they were in for a long day.

Again, Florida showed their improved maturity and balance by using a well managed running game to rack up 230 yards on the ground. Leading the way (again) was Jeff Demps who (again) had over 100 yards of total offense and a touchdown. Missed the touchdown? You must have blinked...

For the second game in a row, Florida was able to pull some starters for the fourth quarter and give some of our young guys a chance to shine. John Brantley answered the call with a nice drive and a perfectly thrown pass to David Nelson to cap off an impressive 58 point win.

A couple of other talking points:

*Tebow tied Emmitt Smith's career rushing TD record (36)... in less than three years. If he stays for his senior year, he could very well set a record that no one may ever beat.

*Jeff Demps put up over a hundred yards of offense for the third game in a row. He is averaging about 12 yards per touch on the season and shows no signs to expect anything less in the future.

With Florida and Georgia both coming off big wins, expect a shootout this Saturday with National Title chances on the line for both teams. Be sure to keep an eye on GatorsFirst.com for a comprehensive preview of the game.
