The Gators fell last night in a 60-64 loss to #13 ranked Vandy. Some were considering this a &must win& game for the Gators to make the NCAA tournament, but at least one GatorsFirst author still thinks the team has a chance whose article can been seen here. The game was the total opposite of last game against Vandy where Macklin fouled out with 2 points and 1 rebound, and the team shot almost 50 percent from the arc. This game Macklin had 21 points with 12 rebounds and the team went 2 for 13 from the arc. The Gators had many chances to win this game, but its hard to win when you go 37 percent from the field, 15 percent from 3 range, and 66 percent from the line.

The Gators started the game down 0-9 in 2.5 minutes, and Vandy stretched the lead to 20-8 in the first 7 minutes. Most of the rest of the first half the Gators were down by around 10, but had a late first half run and were only down 3 at the half. The second half stayed close, but the Gators could not close the game out with no field goals in the last 9:53 and two missed open looks in the last minute. Overall, it was an improvement from the game at Vandy, but as Billy D says the 3 point line is the ''great equalizer'' and the Gators could not buy a shot last night.

The Gators play at Kentucky this Sunday at noon. The game will be televised on CBS.

Side note: Ogilvy should have played soccer with the amount of acting he does on the court. At least this game the refs didn't buy it with Ogilvy flopping twice without contact, resulting in a Macklin slam both times.
