Great Weekend, Thanks to Ventyx... PDF Print E-mail

I managed to swing myself a free plane ticket to the game, partly because I worked hard in school, and partly because I have good negotiating skills. Either way, it made for a great weekend...

I had a job interview last weekend with a software/consulting company named Ventyx. They were great. They originally wanted to send me from Gainesville to Atlanta and back for the interview. But I suggested that they send me from Jacksonville to Atlanta, then to Fayetteville, and back to Jacksonville. As it turns out, it was cheaper by a good margin and they agreed to send me on the trip. This meant that I could go to every game this year!!!!

After a successful interview, I made it to Fayetteville. We arrived at the Theta Tau house (engineering fraternity where all of the makers of GatorsFirst know each other!). They were gracious enough to house us for the weekend. After pregaming for a bit, we went down to a couple of bars on Dickson St., which is their equal to University Ave. We had a great time and came home, ready for a great day of football. The next morning, we partied at the house, along with Krutch, Brian, and James. It was great because the house was literally 1.5 blocks from the stadium.

I really liked their stadium. It made me feel like they really cared about their team. All of their sporting facilities were in tip-top shape. We had tickets in the 9th row in the Gators' section, which was very clutch. I felt like Arkansas didn't have any trouble moving the ball on us. This concerned me for future games, especially with all of the passes over the middle for marginal to big gains. Their running back, Michael Smith, looked like he was the real deal. Tim Tebow looked ordinary, specifically when throwing deep. He kept over/under-throwing every receiver. Luckily, our running backs stepped it up and led us to a 38-7 victory. I hope everything works out with our future games.

As a whole, Fayetteville was a favorable trip. We won the game, and we had a great time partying. I look forward to the rest of our away games!
