I'm really pumped about this game. I left my family's house in South Florida a day after Thanksgiving and I'm in route to Tallahassee. I've been there a couple times, but never for a football game, so I'm pumped like no other...
I grew up in South Florida. Long before I attended UF, I was a huge Miami Hurricanes fan. Out of any team they ever played, I naturally hated the Seminoles the most, for a long list of reasons. Mostly becasue they had the rudest fans, and that stupid tomahawk chop, which they played after any play that gained at least one yard. Luckily I got to witness some of their most crushing losses, and the term "wide right" always makes me smile.
I ended up decided on the University of Florida because of their engineering school. Learning to like the Gators was tough at first, but the fact that I got to root against the Seminoles for two reasons made it more enjoyable. I can't stand anything that has to do with the Seminoles. Out of all of the rival teams of any of my favorite teams, FSU is by far my worst enemy. And this list includes the likes of the Atlanta Braves, the New York Jets, and the New York Knicks. I've had this argument with James about who is a bigger rival, Georgia or FSU. He claims that Georgia is a much bigger rival, mainly because they are in our conference, as well as our division. However, my claim is that FSU is within the state, bragging rights are on the line, as well as the recruiting implications. Plus as I stated earlier, I already had a huge reason to hate them. Hopefully this weekend works out the way that we want it to, beating them handily. Hopefully we won't need another "wide right".
