Here at G1, we've had a rash of fatherhood. James and Chris have due dates within a week of each other in August. In order to celebrate this occasion, it was deemed necessary to have a Dadchelor Party. In case you think this is a great idea (and let's face it, you do) I'm posting some of the details so that you, too, can celebrate fatherhood in this most sensible manner.
This historic event will include fishing, canoeing, whitewater rafting, and a Dad-themed skills competition, dubbed a Manathon or a Manathlon by the eight competitors. As a side event, thanks to the massive quantities of beer, meat, Chick-Fil-A, and Hardee's consumed during the weekend, I hope we successfully complete a game of 'don't ruin the plumbing'.
Manathlon scoring is done similarly to rotisserie baseball, where an event winner is awarded an 8, on down to 1 point for last. In events where ties are permitted, the total of the places in question is divided by the number of people tied for that place. The six events are:
